Kasey’s birthday, December 4, 2002 as you can see in the photos, just how Jesus has blessed our family with lots of love, just flowing like a river from their hearts for one of God’s chosen ones on earth to touch many of their lives that they will always remember.
We were told on March 3, 2001 that this day would never happen, but God had a master plan for our angel. So he gave her sweet memories for that day, but in return we have them for a lifetime. It was so very special and so uplifting for her to have her family and friends with her. It gave her a reason to smile and still be thankful that she knew them, could communicate with them, and just hang out. Even in her condition, she knew that many others were worst off then she was. She was always thankful to be alive.
Christmas for Kasey, 2001 was probably her most special one in her life. She really had grown spiritually with her faith and more than ever showed love and caring to her family and friends. As we knew her condition was getting worse and didn’t know if this Christmas would be her last. Well, it turned out to be her last. She had a fantastic one and shared many special times and much laughter. The presents she gave were only symbolic. Kasey gave her love, courage, determination and strong spirit to everyone. She gave everyone around her love, laughter, smiles, but most importantly, she let everyone around her to latch on and feel God’s love, God’s plan, God’s journey that Kasey so bravely succeeded at on her way to heaven.
These are Kasey’s friends and family at he birthday party and dinner.

Kasey eating her first piece of her birthday cake
Kasey’s last birthday and Christmas here on earth and our first
birthday and Christmas with her in heaven. Kasey’s last birthday
on earth was such a blessing. She was able to eat birthday cake
for the first time in nine months. We had lots of friends and family
over to witness her eat and drink. We called it a miracle to watch,
just one of the many miracles. We were told nine months before,
that she wasn’t going to make it very long, much less eat or drink
ever again. We all know that there is a higher physician from up
above. God was so good to Kasey, me and Brian. He answered many
of our prayers. God let Kasey cross the path of a physician named
Dr. McWhorter, from New Orleans, LA. Kasey’s doctor from Baton
Rouge asked for her not to have the surgery, because she probably
wasn’t
going to make it. She answered, “I’m going to put it into God’s
hands.” “If it was meant for me to leave this earth, then I will,
if not God will guide the doctor’s hands and I will eat and drink
again.” Kasey had so much faith for a twenty one year old. Her
faith in Jesus was so strong. It would just shine from her soul
then strengthen out from her beautiful smile.

This picture was taken on Kasey’s 22nd birthday. Just like you see her in the photo, she lies closest to our heart. We must keep up our faith and keep smiling, because we know that Jesus will keep Kasey’s soul warm for us until we reunite again in heaven. Thank you Jesus for the twenty two years, but most of all, for the twenty one months that you blessed us with, to be able to tell her our goodbyes.
